June 15: The
locality of Malda faced a lot of problems. Mr. Dutta, a social worker inspired
all to do something for the good of the society. He got together some youths
and invited the locals to a meeting. The meeting was a big success. They set to
work on a Sunday. They brought brooms, buckets and bleaching powder from home.
They swept drains and streets. Gradually all others took part in their every
Sunday programme. All of them worked together in a high spirit. A group of
young boys went on a door to door drive ungoing people to join the garbage
cleaning programme. The programme was repeated every Sunday. Thus the
inhabitant of Malda have got a clean locality.
