Atal Bihari Vajpayee passes away

September 13: Atal Bihari Vajpayee , one of the
greatest Indian Politicians passed away
this evening at 05:05 p.m. at AIIMS Hospital. He died at the age of 93. The eminent politician had suffered from a
stroke in 2009. On 11 June 2018, Vajpayee was admitted to AIIMS in critical
condition following a kidney infection. He ali- gned himself to the Rashtriya Sewak
Sangh (R.S.S) and later became its “Pracharak”. He wrote some books like “Meri
Ekyavan Kavitayen” and “ kaidi kaviraj ki kundalian”. Atalji was a skilled
speaker. His manner of speaking was very infrequent. During 1977-79, he was
sent to U.N. General Assembly as a representative of India where he addressed
the assembly in Hindi for the first time. He became the Prime Minister of India
in 1996, 1998 and 1999. During his leadership, India tested her nuclear
capability at Pokhran in 1998. He was honored with “Padma Bhusan”. He was also
awarded with Bharat Ratna in 2015. He remained a bachelor his entire life. He adopted and raised
Namita Bhattacharya as his own daughter. The president, Prime Minister, the
Governor and Chief Minister mourned his death.
